Hello, my name is Teresa Petty. I am a former senior procurement specialist (contracting agent). I have reverse engineered my knowledge of procurement from how we made decisions on who to award to present an opportunity for those that want to learn how to do business with the government.

I am passionate about helping businesses navigate the government space because I felt conflicted when assessing proposals on a day to day basis and not seeing equal representation in the awarding of contracts. I was responsible for writing the first minority preference program for one of the largest municipalities in South Florida and I encouraged set-asides for local businesses. 

I’ve learned that theory and tenacity go hand in hand. I have the knowledge to implement business goals efficiently and the fortitude to ensure the implementation is successful. I have written ordinances, managed multiple projects and built multi-million dollar solicitations from the ground. In my few months as a freelancer, I have helped small businesses have successful meetings with commissioners, present to key decision-makers in government departments and win contracts. These wins are fulfilling and I will continue to do my part in providing opportunities for minorities and small to mid sized businesses.
